Transport yourself to the tropics and eat out of a real coconut!
These coconut shell bowls are hand made from real coconuts reclaimed after being discarded as waste as a bi-product after their flesh and water have been extracted. Each coconut is cut, cleaned and sanded, before being finished with an organic virgin coconut oil polish. Absolutely nothing artificial is used during the process from coconut to coconut bowl.
Coconut bowls are a beautiful product of nature, with each bowl having its own shape, size, colour and pattern. That means when you buy a coconut bowl from us, nobody else in the world will have a bowl just like yours. We think that's pretty cool!
- No artificial glues or lacquers
- 100% natural and handcrafted
- Food safe
- Volume average: 16-18 oz. or 500-700ml
Coconut Bowls are best suited to room temperature and cool foods. For warmer foods to ensure durability, prepare your bowl for the change in temperature by first rinsing your bowl in lukewarm water and sit aside until dry. Do not expose to extreme heat and they are not suitable for the microwave, oven, or fridge.
Hand wash with lukewarm soapy water. Like any natural wood product, do not use in the dishwasher or soak for a long time.
Polish with virgin coconut oil every 10 or so uses to restore its smooth and shiny surface
Of the billions of coconuts harvested each year for the coconut oil, water and flesh industries, 99% of their shells are discarded and burned as waste.
Coconut Bowls decided to do something about this. They reclaim their coconut shells from companies that treat them as a bi-product after their flesh and water have been extracted. Their workshop then cuts, cleans and sands the coconut shells, turning them into beautiful coconut bowls that you can eat from. Each Coconut Bowl is then finished with an organic virgin coconut oil polish.
