As we're cause conscious beach babes ourselves, we want to make sure that the amazing life-giving ocean we've been fortunate enough to experience will still be full of beauty and life for our children. Unfortunately big business and industry seem to have other plans! So we decided that we needed to make sure that not only are the products we choose produced in a way that is gentle on the environment, but that we were making an impact in preserving and cleaning up the ocean we love so much. We have chosen to formalize this commitment by joining 1% For the Planet, a global network of businesses, non-profits, and individuals working together for a healthy planet. This means that we don't get to say something vague like "a portion of proceeds goes to blah blah"- nope! We are accountable to 1% For the Planet (and to you, beach lovers) to donate exactly 1% of our total sales to our charity partners. They take that money and put it into action. By giving you the option when you checkout, we are getting your input as well. Get to know our donation partners and tell us where you want your money to go.

Earth Rangers is the Kids’ Conservation Organization. They are dedicated to educating children and their families about biodiversity, inspiring them to adopt sustainable behaviors, and empowering them to become involved in protecting animals and their habitats. They do this through exciting and educational in-school programs, real conservation projects that help protect Canadian wildlife, and a free membership program that both gives kids the tools to get involved in a cause they care about and the confidence that they can make a difference.
They have more than 100,000 members, who participate throughout the year in activities like recycling used batteries, planting pollinator gardens, and developing grassroots fundraising initiatives for Canadian species at risk.
Oceans Initiative is a team of scientists on a mission to protect marine life, including whales, dolphins, sharks, salmon & seabirds, in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. They get their feet wet in the field, wherever the work is needed, and spend time sharing their cutting-edge science to inform conservation action. Oceans Initiative is the keystone project of a registered charity in Canada called Oceans Research and Conservation Association. In the US, Oceans Initiative is a standalone nonprofit registered in Washington state, and fiscally sponsored through The Ocean Foundation.
